Dr Reena Shah is a qualified Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council and the British Psychological Society.She trained at Cardiff University completing a Doctorate degree. Since completing her BSc (honors) psychology degree and an MSc in research methods in psychology, she has worked in many NHS and private hospitals throughout the U.K. (including Bedfordshire, London and South Wales).  


Client work

She has worked with individuals (adults, adolescents and children, older adults and people with learning difficulties) couples and families and has facilitated group work. She has experience of working with a variety of clients with a range of presenting problems.


Dr Shah’s work is informed by many therapeutic models, including Systemic, Cognitive Behavioural, Behavioural, Family Therapy, Solution-focused and Psychodynamic.  She advocates for tailored therapy for the needs of her client(s).



In the NHS, Dr Shah has worked in Community Mental Health teams, memory clinics, medium secure units and in specific mental health units in well-known hospitals.

She is currently working in the dermatology department at the Royal London Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital (Bartshealth NHS Trust). She is also part of the specific psychodermatology clinic at the Royal London Hospital with Dr Anthony Bewley, Consultant Dermatologist.




She believes in conducting new research and her current passion of psychodermatology lends to conducting new research within the area. She has previously published papers on schizophrenia and psychodermatology. She is an invited reviewer of the psychiatry research journal.

She is currently working on a number of studies relating to psychodermatology, body image and adjustment, coping and appearance concern within the U.K and in India.
